Introducing our new web series for youth!

South End Stories is overjoyed to premiere our new kids show SUNNYSIDE UP on YouTube. The show was created by Donte Felder and Queenie Sunshine as an educational vehicle to bring social emotional learning and academics to kindergarten, first, second, and third grade students. SUNNYSIDE UP serves positivity and relatability to their audience during quarantine. The show celebrates Black excellence by honoring the stories of African American heroes, heroines, and everyone in between. It aims to help children feel connected through positive engagement, emotional empowerment, and a sense of community.

Please watch with the young children in your life.

EPISODE 1 - "GOOD STUFF"

Little D and his sister Bayje talk about ways to stay in touch with happy feelings during quarantine.

EPISODE 2 - "GRAPHING IN THE AFTERNOON"

Little D and his sister Bayje count, sort, and graph his rock collection. What size rock does Little D have the most of and which one is his favorite?

EPISODE 3 - "WALK IN THE PARK"

Little D and Bayje take a walk and are surprised to find a fun time in the park.

"FRACTION ACTION"

Little D uses a pizza to illustrate different fractions, much to his hungry sister’s dismay.

EPISODE 5 -

"THE NEW NEIGHBOR"

Little D and Bayje discover something exciting and unexpected in their back yard when playing hide and seek.​

 

EPISODE 6 -

"ZOOM CLASS"

On a typical school day in quarantine, Little D and his class discuss the ups and downs of being in an online classroom vs. in person learning. When Little D realizes how much he misses his friends, Bayje helps him remember how they can socialize safely.
