Who We Are:

South End Stories is an arts education organization serving South King County and the greater Seattle area. Our mission is to ignite joy and justice in classrooms and communities using arts-based learning, anti-racist education, and social activism. We envision a world where students, teachers, families, and communities are liberated through storytelling and the arts. Our programming focuses on student-driven education and social-emotional learning.

The South End Stories Youth Blog is an online publication led and created by young people that uplifts youth voices in King County. The blog centers BIPOC/Global Majority youth voices, and the content ranges from showcasing youth art to articles on important social issues.

Feedback from previous interns:

"Working in the youth blog taught me many things (including but not limited to networking, collaboration skills, and professionalism in the journalistic field) and I appreciate the opportunity I got to work with the members of the blog and greater SES community. In addition to that I was able to learn about a passion of mine and how I might like to pursue that as a career.”
"I felt I could be an agent in getting young community members a platform to publish their art and ideas."
"[In the blog] you will hear from a diverse cast and crew of youth activists, community organizers, artists, and critical thinkers about their take on the current state of chaos, and how they somehow are navigating the world through it all.”
“[Participating in the South End Stories Youth Blog] was such a positive experience and [the blog advisor] really really showed that she trusted us, which is like all that I wanted. I just want it to be for the youth by the youth.”
